I had recently sold my AK builder trigger guard rivet tool because I at the time was moving and needed the money. I was also dissatisfied with how difficult it was to rivet Galil trigger guards due to their length and tab on the side so I designed my own trigger guard riveting jig that would accommodate both AK and Galil trigger guards. I designed it using Solidworks and used a 1070 train wheel casting chunk, I should probably heat treat and parkerize it but I does not get a lot of wear and tear so I am not too concerned. It was machined on a Bridgeport Series-I vertical mill.

Figure 1. The final product, note the extended depth of the pocket and the slot for the Galil's wide trigger catch tab. The rivet divot's where made with a 5/16 ball end mill.

Figure 2. The jig with a Kalashnikov trigger guard in it.

Figure 3. One of my first drawings that now I look back on it appears crude.

Figure 4. The anvil for riveting the rear of the trigger guard.
